Landscape construction firm in California, US by Siapin Horticulture? Siapin Horticulture we believe urban areas are one of the best places for better management of rainwater management. Loaded with impenetrable surfaces, such as car parks, median strips, islands, etc., commercial landscapes become a motorway for deposited pollutants that drain off the ground and bombard surrounding soils with contaminants. These pollutants, such as heavy metals, hydrocarbons, sediments, and even waste, pollute our flows and streams, making them the third largest source of pollution for lakes and the primary source of estuaries. By implementing a bio-genetics system, you can filter these pollutants and delay the drainage of the rainwater by reducing and improving the discharge quality naturally and aesthetically.
A beautiful landscape design can transform a place from ordinary to extraordinary! While the basic exterior of a building may or may not be allowed to be changed or modified, but how the owner wants to do up or keep the garden is a personal choice. The garden area adds immense style and beauty to a house or commercial space, along with being the space that offers rejuvenation and peace. This comfort instantly magnifies when the landscape design of the garden is unique and beautiful. Landscape gardens are a class apart and can add tons of charm to any garden area.
Here at Siapin Horticulture we sometimes have to navigate many technical details when designing a landscape project take for example this job at Western Asset Plaza in Los Angeles where we had to blow in “lightweight soil” to reduce the weight load on the planters because underneath is a parking structure. We also kept in mind that though we have had plenty of rain here in So Cal we are still in drought mode. Discover extra info on Siapin Horticulture Inc.
A nice patio that is also environmentally friendly is something a lot of people want to be around. We were able to make that happen here at Siapin Horticulture. During this high profile project in Fox Plaza in Century City, we installed a new patio for the office building. Aside from just adding a new seating area, this project was unique because of the “epic system”, which captures all rainwater on sight and stores in the pipes on the ground which feeds the plants. This is a better technique than just recycling the water. Something else that might stand out is the drip irrigation which also has the potential to save water by granting the water to slowly go down to the roots of the plants, that way the water can most likely go directly into the roots and help avoid evaporation.
The company was started in 1962 by Jack Siapin with the goal of providing high quality landscape construction and maintenance throughout Southern California. In 1978 Jack’s son Daniel joined the firm and became a partner. In 1997, Jack retired selling his stock to Daniel. Daniel’s son Gabe has joined the firm and manages the Maintenance and construction division.
Bioretention cells refer to hollow patches of land with a permeable backfill under the surface filled with shrubs and greenery. Backfills are materials used to fill up excavation and facilitate the filtration of stormwater runoff by letting it pass through an underdrain. Also known as a rain garden, bioretention cells effectively drain pollutants off stormwater and prevent runoff from being pooling on the ground. They are most suited for parking lots and other enclosed areas where the ground does not absorb water. Curb and gutter elimination systems reduce the rapid and sudden transport of stormwater to a drainage system. They also allow for better infiltration and removal of polluting agents, as they reduce the flow of stormwater by increasing sheet flow. Sheet flow is the condition wherein stormwater is allowed to disperse and spread in a flat state. Being a level form of water flow, sheet flow decreases the occurrence of soil erosion and directs stormwater into bioretention basins. Read more details at Siapin Horticulture Inc.
