Colorado Springs tree removal firm: Do you want to keep your trees healthy? If your area constantly deals with drought you will want to consider trees listed as drought-tolerant. Some drought-tolerant species include Arizona Cypress, Japanese Zelkova, White Fir, and Kentucky Coffeetree. On the opposite side of the spectrum if your area deals with a large amount of moisture or wet conditions, here are a few trees that will do better in wet conditions: Baldcypress, Shellbark Hickory, Red Maple, Silver Maple, Paper Birch, River Birch, and Weeping Willow.

First we will suggest some tips on tree care and after that we will introduce Tree Artisans, a tree services company in Colorado Springs. Tree watering is a key part of tree care, but it is difficult to recommend an exact amount due to the variety of climates. A few guidelines will help you to water your trees properly. For new trees, water immediately after you plant a tree. Usually 30 seconds with a steady stream of water from a garden hose w/ a diffuser nozzle per tree seedling is sufficient. During the first couple growing seasons, your newly planted tree is expending a lot of energy trying to get its roots established in the soil. Especially during the first few summers of your new trees life, it will have a difficult time dealing with heat and drought. You can make this easier by providing water and covering the soil with wood-chip mulch. Deep watering can help speed the root establishment. Deep water consists of keeping the soil moist to a depth that includes all the roots.

Trees are an important element to your backyard landscape. Not only do trees provide much-needed shade in our increasingly urban suburbia, but their lush, green foliage adds amazing aesthetics. But sometimes our common backyard trees can fall victim to unforeseeable natural threats, which can weaken and eventually kill them. Here, we’ll review the most common threats to trees and how you can protect your trees from damage. There are hundreds of different kinds of common diseases, pests and other natural threats that can affect your trees. Here are the most common.

Searching for the best choices if you need to cut down the tree maintenance costs? Start with picking the right trees for Colorado! The smallest tree on the list is a Japanese Tree Lilac. These are true lilacs, but their globe shape is much taller than the flowering shrubs we all know and love. They grow to be 15 to 20 feet tall and wide, and are remarkably trouble-free. Tree lilacs put on a beautiful display of creamy white flowers in late June. Their fragrance is intoxicating! Plant them near a deck or patio and breathe it in! Once the flowers fade, the dense foliage continues to add a welcoming pool of shade through the summer. Japanese Tree Lilacs are drought-tolerant once they’re “established.” In other words, give them two or three seasons of normal watering, and then enjoy these trouble-free plants as their water-wise habits kick in!

The highest tree loss rates occur within the first three years after planting while the root system grows from the root ball into your soil. Many such losses are preventable with the right care. Watering trees at the right time and in the right way is the first step. Apply water to the original root ball and the surrounding soil once or twice per week during dry periods – depending on the weather and soil moisture levels.Proper mulch application conserves soil moisture and provides a better environment for roots to grow. Mulch should never be in contact with the trunk of the tree. Pest management is also important because young trees can’t afford to lose leaves or branches to pests. Fertilization helps to establish healthy growth and is a cost-effective way to help turn small plants into larger ones.

Mulching is the most beneficial thing a home owner can do for the health of a young tree. Mulches are materials placed on the soil surface to improve soil structure, oxygen levels, temperature and moisture availability. Properly applied, mulch can give landscapes a handsome, well-groomed appearance. Ideally, growing trees should be fertilized throughout the year. The greatest amounts should be applied during the early spring and summer months. Several light applications a year are preferred as the tree gets older. Many people wait until spring to begin thinking about their landscaping, but the pros know that getting a head start in the fall can make springtime care easier and more rewarding. There are a few important steps to take when preparing your trees for colder weather. Nip problems in the bud by practicing the PINE method: prune, inspect, nourish and extend. Remember that healthy, well cared for trees generally don’t die, snap, lose limbs, or house termites. Keeping your trees healthy can help prevent damage to your home and property. High quality landscape maintenance firm in Southern California? Here at Siapin Horticulture, we do our best to use all of our specialties to exceed people’s expectations and construct things exactly how they ask. Starting off at the University Southern California COL/URH building, the contractor demoed all the plants to do repairs so we installed a new building and a new landscape to manufacture a wide planting, new style campus, and match the planting plan. By doing that, we had to use ornamental grasses and drought tolerant ground cover which gave a satisfying aura to the landscape. Our job at USC was big on plants so we also installed lomandra plants, carissa ground cover, raphiolepis, and new sod.

How Bioretention works: Do you remember the science class at the university when you made a water purification project at the end with a water bottle, fine sand, fine sand, pebbles, and a coffee filter? A Bioretention is almost the same concept with a few small details added. These shallow depressions in the landscape are designed to mimic the mechanisms of the removal of pollutants in our forest ecosystems that slow down and treat the outflow. Consisting of different elimination mechanisms, each with a specific role, the bioretention zone will intercept the water that flows out of your car park by slowing it down and capturing the various pollutants it has caused. Mechanisms such as a sand bed for filtration, absorption through vegetation, a shallow pond, soil particles, and mulch will help filter pollutants and distribute water evenly in the soil environment.

Inlet protection devices: These are also known as hydrodynamic separators and are flow-through structures with a separation or a settling unit to remove oil, trash, grease, etc. You can use this innovation for the pre-treatment of the other inlet protection devices. They are commonly used in the potential stormwater areas, where there is a high concentration of pollutants. They promote the recharge of groundwater. Some pavements are used to create voids on the corners of the pavers. Concrete grid paver systems are made of concrete blocks, which are used to create voids inside the blocks, by clearing the finer particles inside them.
