There’s lots of innovation in 2020 from the folks at Prime, including their new ROTO Cam, which features a rotating module designed for easy and precise draw length and adjustments in ½-inch increments, with nothing more than an Allen wrench. For maximum tuning capability, Prime’s new Easy Tune Shim Kit lets you shift cams right or left during the tuning process. Prime is known for making a rock-solid riser, and it’s been redesigned this year for even more strength. I like that Prime offers its flagship bow in four different lengths (31, 33, 35, and 39 inches axle-to-axle), and I shot a few different versions of the Black. The 5 (35-inches) was the fastest of the models, but I handled it easily, and it pointed and shot very well. Just for kicks, I shot the 9 (39 inches axle-to-axle) and while noticeably slower than its shorter cousins, it was probably the quietest and deadest-in-the-hand bow I shot all day.

With its flowing, highly reflexed/deflexed riser setup, an Obsession bow strikes a unique profile. It’s also a pretty solid shooting platform. The 2020 Evolution XS figures to be another in that line. And, once again, this is a bow with built-in tuning features. The XS uses Obsession’s new OB Adjustable 4-track cam system that allows for hyper-tuning of the cam system for perfect arrow flight. The bow weighs in at 4.4 pounds, measures 31.5” in length and offers 90-percent letoff. It boasts an advertised speed rating of 338 fps. You can custom color this rig to your heart’s delight with 29 riser colors, 16 limb colors, nine string colors and three cam colors.

The arrow and the string float free above the rail of the Crossbow and this gets rid of any kind of friction. Less friction while shooting arrows results in better accuracy and longer cable life. There is an advanced trigger system in all these Crossbows, which is a trac-trigger firing system. Ravin patents this trigger mechanism and this slides forward on the rail and clasps directly to the exact middle of the string when the bow is drawn. Mechanism allows for straight-line nock travel and this why advanced technology delivers an unmatched accuracy. The cocking system in all Ravin Crossbows is another advancement than many other crossbow manufacturers. Ravin Crossbow uses a versa-draw cocking system, which is provided by Helicoil technology. This works with a coalition with the trac-trigger firing system and it is built into the sleek design. See even more info at https://huntinggiant.com/blogs/bows/tenpoint-vapor-rs470-vs-ravin-r29x.

How we started in the business? Hunting Giant was formed by a group of people who has a deep love for hunting and the outdoors. What started out as a weekly hobby slowly transformed into a mission: to be able to share the sense of fulfillment we feel in hunting. We don’t believe that the right hunting gear can turn a lousy hunter into a great one. However, the right hunting gear may be able to improve their odds for success. This is why we spent so many years looking for premium hunting gear and accessories. Now that we have it, it has been our goal to make it easily accessible to our valued customers.

Bear goes back to the midprice bow with its new Status EKO. The EKO cam technology focuses on letoff flexibility, with four easy-to-switch options between 75% and 90%. The Align Lok lever within the riser allows you to adjust any sight to perfection. It’s one of the faster bows in the lineup at 344 fps, and it’s still pretty light at 4.3 pounds. The Status offers draw lengths of 26-30 inches. The brand offers two options for draw weight, the first between 45 and 60, and the second between 55 and 70. PSE’s 2020 flagship bow series offers three different heights. Its 31- and 33-inch offerings are well within the norm of the year’s axle-to-axle measurements. But the brand also has a 35-inch in the lineup. The whole goal for this lineup was a true dead-in-hand feel and an extremely quiet experience.

Here’s a prediction for 2020: The Wicked Ridge M-370 is going to be an incredibly popular option for crossbow hunters. The M-370 checks a lot of boxes. It’s arguably the lightest crossbow ever made, weighing in at just 5.8 pounds. It’s easy to handle, measuring 9.5 inches wide when cocked. It’s plenty fast, driving arrows at 370 fps. And it has TenPoint’s time-proven ACUdraw system. Best of all, it’s offered at an attractive price of about $700. It’s available as a kit with a TenPoint Multi-Line scope, Alpha-Nock arrows, and a quiver.
