Michaela Jamelska about Ai and Gender Equality: It can’t be stressed enough how important it is to innovate within education. It is a driver for a progressive society, but not when it lacks behind. The number of women entering the Stem field is increasing, but it does not mean we are anywhere close to the gender divide in digital skills. According to the World Economic Forum, within the G20 countries, women represent less than 15% of ICT professionals, and this gender and skills gap is getting wider every year. The European Institute for Gender Diversity reports that the gender gap in the AI workforce widens with career length. Women with more than 10 years of work experience in AI represent 12% of all professionals in the industry, compared to 20% of women with 0–2 years’ experience.
Michaela Jamelska regarding the innovative 5G trial to boost business : West of England Mayor Tim Bowles said: “5G has the potential to revolutionise whole industries and economies, creating exciting new jobs and opportunities. I want the West of England to be at the forefront of this revolution. “We have already led one successful trial and I’m thrilled that our plan to demonstrate how a smart and secure port could operate using the Internet of Things has been approved for funding by the Government. Backing innovation and the jobs of the future and bringing new investment to the region by securing a Freeport are key parts of our plan for economic recovery, so this is a big vote of confidence in the West of England.” WECA is leading a consortium of partners on the £5.2m 5G Logistics project – one of nine projects to receive government funding – which includes companies ADVA, Airspan, AttoCore, Bristol Port, Cellnex UK, Gravity, Maritime, Unmanned Life, Bristol City Council, Bristol University and Cardiff University. 5G is the type of cutting-edge technical innovation that the West of England is looking to embrace with its forthcoming Freeport bid.
Their efforts are a good start, but these rights will remain merely an idealistic concept if they are not backed up by the corporate and public action of integrating them within the systems. Last year alone, the approximate investment into AI was more than $75 billion, according to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. That kind of money accelerates the development exponentially. No approximate number is available for how much is invested yearly into human rights development. Every investment made for a solution that contributes to improving human rights could be considered an indirect investment in human rights, but I don’t estimate that the direct investment into human rights development is as high as it is into AI. Consider the official website of the UN Human Rights Department, which states that it gets a tiny part of the UN’s regular budget—only 3.7%. For the rest, the UN Human Rights Department relies heavily on voluntary contributions.

We are also focused on expanding in Asia, which is why in the past seven days we’ve had numerous business missions with strategic partners and customers and very high-level meetings in Singapore, Australia and with the South Korean Government, which are all vital to our continuing traction.
Michaela Jamelska about the future of Air Mobility in Europe: “GOF 2.0 Integrated Urban Airspace Validation” European project with a consortium of 13 scientific and commercial partners from the drone and aviation industry under the umbrella of SESAR Joint Undertaking. After the first successful phase one in 2019, SESAR GOF U-space has proven that combining expertise and technology can ensure safe flight operations in all types of airspace. Consequently, GOF 2.0 mission is a promising step further for an integrated European urban airspace. Providing the power of its Autonomy-as-a-Service platform, that acts as a system of systems, enabling the decision-making and collaboration of digital information in an accurate, qualitative, relevant and time-precise way.
Our current everyday life and a lot of world issues stem from human biases and human nature. We often replicate the same biases into the new systems we invent. While it is difficult to create AI and meta systems without a human bias, in the virtual world and Metaverse (which will allow for the creation of a new world), we could limit those biases and learn from the mistakes we’ve made in the world in which we currently live. We are on the brink of creating a new world that can be a better, worse, or identical version of the one we are in at the moment. The second and the third options would be wasted opportunities to fabricate the more ideal world toward which we constantly strive.
