Looking after Bronze cats statues anniversary gifts? Bronze statues are perfect for a special gift occasion or if you want to infuse some art in to your home. Bronze is the most popular metal for cast sculptures due to its strength, lack of brittleness, and expanding/shrinking properties throughout the casting process. Bronze alloys also allow for very detailed sculpting and a vibrant and colorful color and finish. And then there’s durability: It’s been said that bronze sculpture will be the longest-lasting of all human creations. I find that humbling.
I’m sure there are plenty of you out there who, like me, struggle to find anniversary gifts that are unique yet meaningful to your lasting love and relationship. Traditionally, the 8th wedding anniversary is commemorated by gifts of bronze or pottery. Who knew? The 8th may not get as much attention as 10, 20, or 50, but if you keep reading, you’ll see why maybe it should… Bronze and pottery both have very sweet, traditional symbolism. Bronze sculptures are made with great care and craftsmanship, focusing on precise details resulting in a strength meant to last many lifetimes. Details are kind of important to a long-lasting relationship, don’t you think? Additionally, the finishing touches and patina are critical to protect the bronze and prevent the colors from changing over time. Translation — Your love must be tended to and protected over time, or like anything else, it will fade. Pottery also shares an obvious symbolism in the shaping and molding of a work of art that is meant to last. The modern 8th anniversary gift choice is linens. Borrrring! Even if I didn’t create bronze sculptures, I would still prefer the traditional and unique gift of bronze. Without further ado, here are some of my sculptures that were created with the bronze anniversary gift in mind! Read additional details at Bronze anniversary gifts.
Trick for getting bronze art appraised: Find an expert appraiser. Once you’ve got a basic knowledge of what you might be looking at, it’s time to take your piece to an expert. A long-time bronze sculpture art appraiser is the best option for receiving an honest and knowledgeable evaluation of your piece. An art appraiser is required to evaluate your piece for insurance and estate planning.
Bronze sculptures cleaning: Before we get into that, it is important to know that most bronze sculptures will come with a wax or polish of some kind already on it. This wax should protect the bronze sculpture for about three to five months, sometimes even longer. A key thing to check for (if your bronze isn’t covered with bird poop or other debris) is if water still beads off the sculpture. If it does, your outdoor bronze sculpture is not in need of cleaning quite yet. If water doesn’t bead off your outdoor bronze sculpture, it’s time to clean!

You’ll see three lines of work on the site: My limited-edition bronzes are aimed at those who appreciate truly high-end fine art. My “Desk Buddies” collection make the energy of my work just a bit more accessible. And my experimental one-of-a-kinds; truly unique pieces that incorporate a variety of materials and concepts. About Laurel Peterson Gregory : After I sculpt an animal in wax or oil-based clay, traditional lost-wax casting processes immortalize the design in bronze. One aspect of particular interest to me, and one for which I plan early in the sculpting phase, is the complex and rich patinas that constitute another hallmark of my limited-edition sculptures. Multiple layers of chemicals and oxides are applied to the heated bronze to achieve a range of unique effects, both translucent and opaque, that complement each design.
