Is Major Movie Star a brilliant cult movie?

Posted on by John Concrane

Is Major Movie Star a brilliant cult movie? If Major Movie Star was a failure at the American box office, he is nevertheless brilliant and cult by his writing and the many references it contains.

Jessica Simpson is excellent as Megan Valentine, a successful actress who loses everything and finds herself in a world opposite to her: that of the army. She knows how to play well on all levels and is a good actress. Vivica A. Fox is scary as Sergeant Morely, but she does that, because that’s her job, and as a result, I appreciate this character better and better as the story unfolds. Simpson’s sidekicks are also excellent, when to Ryan Sypek, I think he makes a nice couple with Jessica.

This film is a duel between the artistic world and the realistic world of the army, while demonstrating the superficiality of the 1st universe, facing the hardness of the second, thus giving a contrast between the two for the spectator. And through this, if Megan may seem futile, she never was, but is just aware of the world she lives in and therefore, I feel sorry for her.

There are a lot of references, whether it’s at the level of the dialogues, the names or the situations mentioned. For example, when Megan talks to the dog, it makes you think of the film « Beethoven » or when Petrovich quotes one of Megan’s films «disco balls in time», which refers to « Austin Power Goldmember ». Megan Talks to her car and I saw a big wink at k2000, not to mention when Nigel calls Amber “Catwoman” or when Megan is cheated by her boyfriend, who has an affair with her art agent, as was the character of Lester in the movie “American Beauty”.

I also perceived references with the names of the characters, because Steve Guttenberg plays Sidney, an agent and it reminds me of the series Alias, because Jennifer Garner plays Sidney Bristow, an agent. I also see a reference to Scary Movie, because Kurt Fuller and Cheri Oteri are both in that movie, not to mention “Carrie”, when Nigel said to Megan, “These rules were of Satan”. I also feel a big wink to Police Academy, a policeman who puts chaos in his police academy played by Steve Guttenberg, while Megan makes a mess in an army. I would even say that it may also refer to the Disney movie “Cadet Kelly”, because of the situation of seeing a woman in the army, while observing that the actress Aime Garcia also played in this TV movie.

Finally, there are so many references at the level of dialogues or scenes played, that it makes the film cult and brilliant by its writing and that it must be rehabilitated, because it is just a masterpiece. View the movie review here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wShl67yxDA.

All about DMT : informations

Posted on by Amelia Whitehart

How is DMT created?: When taken orally, DMT can cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Depending on the individual user, the DMT experience can range from intensely exciting to overwhelmingly frightening. The experience can be so powerful that users may have difficulty processing and integrating the “trip” into their real life. Mental side effects may linger for many days or weeks after ingestion of the drug. DMT is structurally related to the neurotransmitter serotonin and, because of this, a condition called serotonin syndrome is a potentially lethal health risk associated with its use. Individuals taking antidepressants are at highest risk for this complication.

“Ayahuasca is a Quechua word and it means the vine of the dead, or the vine of the souls,” Strassman said. “So that points to the belief that drinking ayahuasca somehow provides access to the realm of the dead, or the realm of disembodied spirits. That’s been a belief that’s circulated around ayahuasca, or DMT, for quite a long time.” There are a number of ways researchers could test whether DMT is present in near death experiences. For example, you could ask someone who has had a near death experience to take DMT, then ask them to compare the two. Strassman said he’s had a few emails from people who have described a lot of similarities. Read extra information at how to get dmt.

DMT stimulates the production of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that causes feelings of happiness. DMT causes users to experience intense euphoria, hallucinations, and new perceptions of reality which people often characterize as life-changing. A DMT trip can begin instantly and generally lasts less than an hour when users smoke the drug. Users who drink DMT as a brew often begin to experience hallucinations that last for four to six hours after about thirty minutes. Some users report mild lingering effects that last for several days. On the physiological level, DMT can cause adverse side-effects.

A flurry of research throughout the 60s focused on DMT, including looking into whether it could help explain why some people have schizophrenia (it couldn’t). But then, in the 70s, DMT was placed into a restrictive legal category, and research was halted. Rick Strassman, a psychologist and psychopharmacologist, led the first new human research in the US into DMT in a generation with his colleague Clifford Qualls between 1990 and 1995. “I was interested in looking at DMT as a naturally occurring psychedelic for quite a few reasons,” he told Business Insider. “One of them was being interested in the biology of naturally occurring spiritual states. In other words, in whatever manner, some of the symptoms of a near death state, a mystical experience of enlightenment, or religious, unusual dreams. One could make an argument that naturally occurring DMT was also involved in those non-drug states.”

There is some evidence that DMT is also produced endogenously, in other words, it is produced naturally in the body, specifically in the pineal gland in the brain. When smoked, the average dose of DMT is believed to be somewhere between 30 to 150 milligrams (mg), and the onset of action can be felt almost instantly. The effects peak and plateau for 3 to 5 minutes, and gradually drop off with the duration of effect totaling 30 to 45 minutes. When consumed as a brew, the dose is between 35 to 75 mg. Effects begin after 30 to 45 minutes, peak after 2 to 3 hours and are resolved in 4 to 6 hours.

Lysergic Acid Diethylamide(buy LSD online) is a semi-synthetic compound derived from ergot (a fungus that grows on rye). In its pure form it is a white, odorless, crystalline powder that is soluble in water. It is normally consumed orally and creates intense psychological dependence. LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) is one of the main drugs in the category of hallucinogens. See more details on this website.
