5 top attractions in Lagos with holiday rental choices

Posted on by Marie Poppins

5 top attractions in Lagos, Nigeria with short stays offers? Thinking about taking your nightlife escapades to the next level? Then think Fela Shrine a.k.a The New Afrika Shrine. From the genre of music to the inspirational story-telling lyrics, not forgetting the sacrosanct palm-wine, get ready to get a political education, a lesson in ‘shakin-it’ and a contact high! The New Afrika Shrine is an open-air entertainment centre located in Ikeja, Lagos State. It serves as the host location of the annual Felabration music festival. Currently managed by Femi Kuti and Yeni Anikulapo-Kuti, it is the replacement of the old Afrika Shrine created in 1970 by Fela Kuti until it was burnt down in 1977. The New Afrika Shrine showcases photo galleries of Fela and musical performances by Femi Kuti and Seun Kuti, thus making it a tourist attraction.

Whether or not you’re familiar with the music and life story of Fela Kuti, a beloved Nigerian musician and activist who pioneered the Afrobeat genre, the Kalakuta Republic Museum is worth a visit. The museum is Kuti’s family home (and final resting place), where personal artifacts and items relating to his career are on display, as is the late megastar’s bedroom, which has been left intact. The museum is run by Kuti’s children, who are often present and willing to discuss Fela’s life and legacy with visitors. The string of islands across which Lagos is built are characterized today by skyscrapers and busy highways, but you can still catch glimpses of the undeveloped lagoons and mangroves that greeted Portuguese explorers in the 15th century. A handful of parks and nature reserves present quiet spots to escape the buzz of Lagos city, as do sandy beaches besides crashing Atlantic waves. Lagos, Ikoyi and Victoria islands all have their own vibe and their own attractions to discover.

Nigeria may not be known for its surfing culture, but Tarkwa bay is starting to put it on the map, as even some of the pros are starting to flock to this hidden but increasingly popular surfing gem. As it’s located on a small artificial island, Tarkwa is only accessible by a 30 minute boat or water taxi from Victoria Island (Mekwe Jetty is one of several places to catch a lift) Didn’t pack your board? That’s cool! It’s still a fun beach (you can rent a chair) and a worthwhile place to visit in Lagos. Plus, watching the surfers at work is always a great thing to do! N200 entrance fee (additional costs for chairs, tables and tent rental). Explore a few extra details at Short stays in Lagos.

Festac town was built for participants of the festival of arts and culture in 1977. The town has a rich cultural heritage and makes for a good place to visit for people looking to explore Lagos. Having being renovated and transformed by Fela’s famous children, The New Afrika Shrine is an entertainment sanctuary, a place to catch real fun for fun seekers. You can visit the shrine on Thursday night for a free show with Femi Kuti. Similarly, on the last Saturdays of the month, Seun Kuti, the last of the Fela’s boys does his thing (Afrobeats Sessions with Seun Kuti) on stage. At each jam session, you’ll enjoy getting educated about African politics. Plus it’s a god way to dance, socialize, and listen to good music. Full Korea betting casino tips: Online gambling winning tricks… everyone wants to win at casino! Avoid Shady Sites : Make sure you are always playing at legitimate, trusted casino sites. Winning big at a casino is only great when you can actually get your hands on the money. That’s why you should never play at a blacklisted casino. For guaranteed safety, check out our list of recommended online casinos.

One of the first things novice players tend to promote casinos is the abundance of free drinks on the floor. If this is the first time you’ve heard about this, congratulations! But let’s backtrack for a second. Are you familiar with TANSTAAFL? It’s an accounting term that means there ain’t no such thing as a free lunch. It’s true in economics and it’s certainly true at the casinos. If they are prepared to give you free drinks while you are sitting at a roulette game, there’s a reason for it. Players who drink lose their inhibitions. This means they bet more and lose more. As a player, you may be encouraged by the prospect of free drinks while you are gambling. It’s a great deal, right? Only for the casino. If you are going to go for the free drinks option, be sure that you are gambling at low stakes tables. Stick to your limits with drinks and chips, and you’ll be just fine.

If you can produce a well-reasoned argument why deviating from your regular strategy might be more profitable, then it is okay. It is the “because I feel like it” or “I am bored” reasoning that has to go. Think. Use your experience to analyse the situations, and then understand ‘why’ you would take one road and not another. If you don’t have enough experience to evaluate different situations yet, you better go back to the free games and grind. Another clear difference between average poker players and great poker players is the ability to fold an overpair. You know that little sick feeling you get when you have a-a- and a tight opponent raises all-in on the turn? You make the so-called “crying call”, and he turns over the set yet again. You need to start paying attention to that feeling a little bit more often.

Browsing our list will not only help you find an experience to enjoy, you’ll be rewarded with one of our generous promotions. we partners with the best new casinos to offer the most generous and exclusive sign-up bonuses available in the United States. Players browsing our top list will notice each review comes with a signup bonus offering free cash and/or free spins. Each offer is a little different thanks to the terms and conditions but all of them are generous and sure to get you started off on the right foot once you’ve selected a new casino to join. If none of the casinos listed suit your fancy, we provided some tips in the next section for choosing a casino not selected as a top option by one of our expert reviewers. Scenario 2: You get involved in a big pot in the early stages of a tournament. You lose that pot and find yourself in the bottom of the leaderboard with 20 to 25 big blinds. Daniel Negreanu: In this scenario you’ve just lost the ability to play deep-stack poker. So now you have to adapt and switch to Plan B, which is a fundamentally more conservative style of play. You’re now looking for spots to double up, contrary to a 200 big blind stack which you won’t try to get in to double up. For years the bubble phase of a tournament – meaning the approach of the money spots – was the phase where you tried to exploit the smaller stacks as viciously as possible by permanently attacking them. Is this approach still valid?

Always Keep an Eye on Your Bets: Every game you find at any of 2019 best online Casinos let you adjust your bet to make sure you play only what you can afford. In many games, the lowest bet is as low as 0.05 or 0.10. This means that you do not need to invest any large sums to make things exciting and get the opportunity to win real money. Of course, your stake level affects how much you can win. Lower bets usually mean lower profits but – hey! Same as you don’t buy a Maserati if you can’t afford it, you don’t want to behave like a millionaire if that puts your finances at risk.

The dark side of the Netherlands book by Michael Jackson’s daughter on Barnes & Noble

Posted on by Marie Poppins

The dark side of the Netherlands book by Michael Jackson’s daughter on Barnes & Noble : I got to learn that the Dutch Court does not care about family life and Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights. I want to make a change regarding this because the Dutch Court is part of the European Court, who have proven to me that they do not care about people in any way. They only care about themselves. There is no justice in this world. Michael Jackson has always given me good support regarding my son. Now that he is gone it is extra painful. The last years of his life he was in Amsterdam, near Joshua. It makes me very happy to know he loved him. He was a man who, as we all know, did not have a good childhood himself. Michael Jackson was a very good, good man. The Jackson family can keep telling lies, but the people who love Michael Jackson know who killed him.

She asserts that the stories which had been published in late-2010 in light of the case have had a damaging effect on her reputation and on her business operations, and she expresses her belief that some measure of responsibility ought to be taken for the detrimental effects that being in the media spotlight can have on one’s repute. Ms Jackson also points out that the role of social media runs in a similar vein—alleging that it was used as a means to verbally harass her in relation to the court case, as well as to spread misinformation more generally.

Still, it seems there is no respect or understanding that he could have been a part of my life, because he is the illusionist Michael Jackson and the King of Pop. What do people know about that? Is there proof he was not? It is easy to talk bad about a person you do not know. Because, after all, it is about Michael Jackson.

Partly, this is because non-solo Jackson tunes are wisely included: Rockwell’s 1984 hit “Somebody’s Watching Me” and two of the Jacksons’ best tunes are reconstituted betwixt “Thriller” and “Leave Me Alone” to give their minor-key menace a flow. The horn-y “Xscape”, first unveiled in 2014, is given a chance to shine in its Prince-circa-Come way, while overtaxed 2001 swan song Invincible gets its excellent bookends, “Unbreakable” and “Threatened”, subsumed into something greater (though it’s not clear what the former, a not-spooky-at-all Biggie duet, is doing here). It doesn’t take much to pry the famed Janet duet “Scream” from the jaws of HIStory’s mediocrity.

Album reviews : Michael Jackson and kids books: But if you recall the release of his landmark records, you’ll remember his promotional magic. Everything from the time the first single hit radio stations to when the big video premiered, it was all something out of this world. Technically, that was always the most exciting aspect of a Jackson release. We loved the music, but we loved seeing what he’d do with it – namely his videos, which are arguably just as important as the music itself. (Hey, even Invincible had that delectable “You Rock My World” video.) They’ve tried to recreate that idea – what with the world premieres of tracks here and there – but it will never be the same. So, that leaves us with just the music. See even more info at Mocienne Petit Jackson books in japanese.

Skipping over his teenage albums is just silly – I mean, would you skip Brandy’s debut album just because she was 15 when it dropped? Playa please. Y’all gotta do better. Oh and let me clarify the word “entire.” While most of your favorite bloggers like to pretend that Michael Jackson’s career started in 1979 with Off the Wall, that was FAR from the case. We’ll be revisiting MJ’s TOTAL solo discography, going all the way back to his 1972 debut.

So how does cloud gaming work? The concept is rather simple. It’s nothing more than a PC attached to the internet, much like the webserver you’re reading this post on, but with beefier hardware and the proper software. This PC is fed the game data, executes the game with its decent hardware specs, compresses the video and audio tracks and, with a slight latency (the time it takes for the data to reach your location) it’s shot over the internet to your device. You react through your game controller, which is sent from your device back to the server on the other side of the pipe. This all happens behind the scenes and can seem pretty miraculous on low-powered devices, such as the G-Box. Thanks to today’s easily accessible high-speed internet, it has become more efficient to tunnel the high-definition video data through the internet than to build up a powerhouse of a PC. Or has it? Network management – router, firewall, IPS/IDS services: Secure Your Mobile Device. Security doesn’t end at your desktop. It’s important to get into the habit of securing your presence through your mobile device as well. Use strong passwords and biometric features, ensure you turn off your Bluetooth and don’t automatically connect to any public Wi-Fi, and download with caution.

Use Anti-Virus Protection & Firewall. Anti-virus (AV) protection software has been the most prevalent solution to fight malicious attacks. AV software blocks malware and other malicious viruses from entering your device and compromising your data. Use anti-virus software from trusted vendors and only run one AV tool on your device. Using a firewall is also important when defending your data against malicious attacks. A firewall helps screen out hackers, viruses, and other malicious activity that occurs over the Internet and determines what traffic is allowed to enter your device. Windows and Mac OS X comes with their respective firewalls, aptly named Windows Firewall and Mac Firewall. Your router should also have a firewall built in to prevent attacks on your network.

Lock Devices Down. Most smartphones, laptops, and tablets come equipped with security settings that will enable you to lock the device using a PIN number or fingerprint ID. Do this on every available device. While traveling, change the PIN numbers you regularly use. In the event that any of your devices have been momentarily misplaced or forgotten, this will be the first line of defense against a security breach.

Data backups ensure that if there is any data loss or theft, files can be recovered. You should always backup your data in a different location so hackers cannot access both areas and you should also backup your data regularly. Firewalls are designed to prevent unauthorized access from a private network. You can create a set of rules on your firewall so that it knows what to allow in and what to block out. A good firewall should monitor incoming and outgoing data.
