Beautiful up-cycled feather and fur garments lovingly designed in Southern California and hand made in Europe. When we produce our garments, we approach every piece knowing the importance of ethical and sustainable fashion. All of our garments are upcycled, meaning that all materials used are sourced from secondary product of food trades under the strict requirements set by the Federation or surplus fur. We spared no effort in finding the highest quality feathers and fur. All of our garments meet the International Fur Federations guidelines and are lovingly pieced together to create the exceptionally luxurious pieces available to you. Find even more info on here. We describe clearly on each product page how we’ve sourced the fur and why we trust it. What constitutes a trustworthy source for Lenuageluxe? It should either: Be sourced as a by-product of the food industry, transform a waste product to give it value, such as the reclaiming fur from animals culled for environmental management, Minimise waste by re-manufacturing vintage pieces or using surplus manufacturing material, instead of only using new material.
Wild fur comes from carefully-managed and abundant wild furbearer populations throughout North America and Russia providing a surplus which can be harvested on an annual basis without negatively impacting the populations. Federal, State, Provincial and Territorial governments control this sustainable harvest, which is conducted by licensed trappers using regulated and certified traps during carefully regulated seasons. When furs are preserved (known as Dressing & Dyeing), like any process using chemistry, it is highly regulated. Frequent government inspections make sure the output of the product and any emissions conform to the highest standards. The process requires salts (which are filtered out of emissions) to preserve and sawdust to clean the skins. After this, the sawdust can be reused to generate power for the mechanical processes like stretching. Fur dressers are highly skilled and are always looking to make their process more sustainable, including new efforts to certify their work with independent assessment organisations.
It feels odd to write about weddings as if they haven’t been drastically affected by the current state of the world.
